What is Longshot?

Longshot is a prediction market platform that enables anyone to bet on anything. Longshot has two main product types: Contests and Markets.

Contests

Contests come in two modes:
  • Free-to-play - make predictions at no cost, with prizes on us
  • Paid - pay a fixed entry fee that goes into a shared prize pool for contest winners
How it works: You make predictions on a set of questions, like which teams will win five NBA games, or whether a politician will say certain words. Instead of buying and selling shares against other traders, you simply compete against everyone else in the contest. How you win: The more accurate your predictions are relative to the field, the bigger your reward. A small entry can turn into a huge payout.

Markets

Markets are predictions on binary outcomes, and each prediction resolves to a win or a loss. Coming soon. Prices are probabilities. Every share trades between 0and0 and 1, and the price reflects the market’s collective belief in how likely the outcome is (a “Yes” share at $0.65 means the market sees ~65% odds of the event occurring). Here’s how it works:
  • Pick your market and how much you want to wager. Tell us what you’re predicting and your stake.
  • Get instant odds. Behind the scenes, market makers compete to give you the best price.
Parlays are built into the app.
  • Stack your picks into one bet. Combine many predictions into a single wager: e.g., BTC 5m UP, SOL 5m UP and ETH 5m UP
